What kind of family traditions do you enjoy? I don’t mean just holiday traditions, but things like family night, bedtime routine, music night, and other things like that. There were things I remember as a child that our family did regularly that left me with wonderful memories. Things like reading out loud from good children’s books, playing hide and seek in the house, going for long walks, and singing around the piano.

I can still remember hearing my mother reading Little Women to us, and Daddy boosting us up onto a closet shelf when we played. I remember our long country walks, and my sister playing the piano as we all sang. Those are memories I cherish. If you establish traditions like that in your family, you and your children will cherish those memories also. I love thinking back on those days, and I loved doing the same things with our children.

Make the traditions that mean something to your family, and stick with them.

When you first get started publishing your writing online, it is tempting to jump right in and do it right away. My advice? Go ahead! One of the best ways to get to know your epublishing software is just to get up and go, start playing with it right away and see what it’s capable of. Refer to the manual to see what features are available, and then either consult the manual further to use them, or figure it out yourself. I usually opt for the latter, but that’s just in my nature. Other people do the opposite.

One of the things you’ll find is that epublishing software can do quite a lot. The more powerful applications have so many functions it just might blow you away, and it’s important to keep it all in perspective. Remember that the number one thing it has to do is get your writing across.

At a bookstore or in a library, one won’t see a shelf that says “the best historical romance novels of all time”. Why is that? Well, probably the reason is that, everyone has their own opinions and their own unique tastes. So if one person were to make a list of their favorite historical romances, it might vary completely from someone else’s list. But you know what one might also find some overlap in some people’s lists. Because there are some books, which have gathered a large following of people who like them. Another reason one might not see a shelf labeled “the best historical romances” is because it could be looked at as promoting one’s own opinion over others. People may like to form their own list. But what one can take from a list which include the best of a sub-genre, is to see those works as simply suggestions. In the end, you may or may not agree with it.
